Victory Quartet to perform at Lilburn church

LILBURN - The Victory Quartet has gone back to its roots, now all that's left is coming home.

The four-person gospel group will return to the First Baptist Church of Lilburn, the place the ensemble originated, on Oct. 18 celebrating 22 years of music ministry and the release of its latest album, "Traditions."

The original members of The Victory Quartet - including current bass Paul West and lead vocalist Mark McKinnon - grew up together attending services at the Lilburn church. While the quartet's voices have changed throughout the past two decades, the mission has remained the same: sharing the love of Jesus Christ through song.

The group's latest CD is a return to the music with which it all began.

"We've decided to go back to the roots of southern gospel," said baritone, Paul Tucker, who has been with the quartet for 12 of the 22 years. "That's where the group started."

A couple of the songs on the CD date back to the 1940s and '50s. "We really hope God's going to be able to use this in many different ways," Tucker said.

The Victory Quartet, which features David Alligood singing tenor, will perform songs from its latest album as well as previous recordings during the Oct. 18 CD release concert.

"It may be a time to get your mind off your troubles and enjoy some good music," Tucker said. "And we hope to share the gospel as we sing."

22 Years in Ministry !

Praise the Lord for allowing us to minister for over 22 years!  We have been so blessed to worship and fellowship with so many people over the last 22 years.  It is truly an honor for God to allow us to be his vessels to reach out to others through song.
